The phenomenon of UFOs seems to act as an interface to our consciousness. People declaring a sighting may be subconsciously compensating for the vacuum of the unknown with elements oriented by their own culture. If so, UFOs are using the archetypes of our unconscious to allow us to apprehend and make sense of these sightings.
